18/02/12 LastSay Sends Love to Heart and Lung

LastSay is proud to promote The Heart and Lung Transplant Foundation’s own Richard Bindahneem, who has recently celebrated his 21st year of survival after initially being told he only had three months to live.In 1991 Mr Bindahneem 
underwent a double heart and lung transplant after being diagnosed with primary pulmonary hypertension and more than two decades later is alive and well to tell his story of how he fought back to become today’s longest surviving transplant patient in Western Australia. As a committed member giving back to the community through his tireless work with The Foundation, Mr Bindahneem was proud to share his touching story recently in The Weekend, of The West Australian. 06/02/12 LastSay Communicates Dangers of Aquatic Aliens

LastSay consultant Gemma Clark worked closely with the Western Australian Department of Fisheries to further its Aquatic Biosecurity Program by communicating its messages to staff.Following a successful launch event held for external stakeholders in November 2011, the the staff got on board to learn about the dangers of aquatic alien pests. Did you know a mussel the size of a thumbnail left a town in Michigan without water for three days? The Fisheries Department’s $9.4 million Aquatic Biosecurity Program has cemented Western Australia as the national leader in protecting our waters from aquatic pests and diseases. Having produced a Biosecurity Charter committing its signatories to abiding by responsible boating and fishing practices, members of related industries got on board with the Department at the official launch of the Program late last year. Staff enjoyed a casual afternoon of presentations, publications and corporate merchandise from the Department’s Director General, Stuart Smith, and research team members followed by a sausage sizzle under the sun – coordinated by LastSay.

31/01/12 Bright Sparks Light Up LastSay

LastSay Communications is celebrating the arrival of two new consultants with the announcement of Laura Incognito and Ashlee Crabbe. The growth comes as new clients Apache Energy, MACA Civil and Academic Task Force enlist the team's services. Public relations and journalism star, Ashlee joined LastSay Communications this week and is already head first in to internal communications for Apache Energy. So head first she must do her helicopter survival training course, a mere five weeks into her new job! As well as working with the oil and gas sector, Ashlee is leading media relations for the State Government’s Pilbara Industry’s Community Council (PICC) Health initiative designed to boost health services in the state’s north west. Laura, just fresh from studies, started one week prior and has already shown an impressive ability to pick up content on global uranium heavyweights, Cameco; writing and producing a new newsletter within the first two weeks in the chair. Over the Christmas break, Laura took part in Perth’s largest sporting event, the Perth Sailing World Championships, as a member of the media team. 10/01/12 Grange celebrates strong results

Australia’s leading magnetite producer, Grange Resources (ASX:GRR) has announced strong December 2011 quarterly results. The Company revealed boosted production at its Savage River mine, in Tasmania, and further development of its joint-venture Southdown Magnetite Project, near Albany in WA’s Great Southern Region. Grange Managing Director, Mr Russell Clark, said “We believe that good safety management results in sustainable and productive operations. Our safety performance at Savage River has been excellent, considerably better than that of the broader Australian mining industry, and is a credit to the hard work that our employees have put into improving the safety culture.”
“The Definitive Feasibility Study for our growth project, Southdown Joint Venture Project, has continued and is due for completion in the first quarter of 2012, for consideration by the owners in the first half of 2012. Engineering studies have been advanced, environmental permitting and land access progressed and we recently announced an improvement in the quantity and confidence of the Resource.


12/01/12 LastSay Director Donna Cole on Offshore Vessel

Apache staff, along with LastSay Director, Donna Cole, met today with the Ningaloo Vision Crew to plan upcoming internal communications needs for the crew. To achieve this, Donna had to fly from Perth to Karratha and chopper to and from the vessel, on an eight-seater Sikorsky Helicopter. Apache Energy (Apache) recently acquired the Prosafe floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel Ningaloo Vision. Apache had leased the Ningaloo Vision FPSO from Prosafe as the main production facility of the Van Gogh oilfield development. The Van Gogh field and the Ningaloo FPSO are located offshore North West Australia, 32 miles (53km) north-northwest of Exmouth. Equity holders in the field are Apache (54.501%, Operator) and Inpex Alpha Ltd (47.499%). The Ningaloo Vision FPSO has the capacity to process up to 150 000 barrels of liquid per day, including up to 63 000 barrels of oil per day, and store 540 000 barrels of oil. The purchase of this asset will enable the orderly development by Apache of the nearby Coniston and Novara fields by using a subsea tie-back to the Ningaloo Vision FPSO.


18/01/12 Mining Group Announces Major Settlement

Mining Group Limited (ASX: MNE) is pleased to announce it has completed the transaction with Cadan Resources Corporation to acquire an 80 per cent interest in the Comval Project, located in the Philippines. Managing Director of Mining Group Andrew Maurice, said the acquisition represented an exciting opportunity to develop a project in an area with world class geological potential. “We are excited about this project given the grade and size of currently identified copper and gold occurrences on the project area.
